Prezzo 8€ con visita guidata ricca di contenuti e molto interessante. Si arriva prendendo la strada per Garessio 2000 (da Garessio) è l’ultimo tratto è sterrato ma di facilissima percorrenza in auto. È obbligatorio chiamare per prenotare la visita del giorno dopo, se non rispondono o da’ spento consiglio di riprovare durante la giornata perché su non prende granché. Beautiful visit to the Royal Castle of Casotto. The first Certosa di Casotto became a hunting lodge in 1800 thanks to the Savoy family. Price 8 € with guided tour rich in content and very interesting. It can be reached by taking the road to Garessio 2000 (from Garessio). The last stretch is unpaved but very easy to travel by car. It is mandatory to call to book the next day's visit, if they don't answer or give it off, I recommend trying again during the day because it doesn't take much.

Fu acquisito dai Savoia e trasformato in castello di caccia da Carlo Alberto. Dimora estiva di Vittorio Emanuele II e dei figli, della Bella Rusin e di personalità legate alla discendenza sabauda. Le camere da letto e gli ambienti con arredi originali ci riportano frammenti della vita di corte. La cappella reale, ancora in restauro, lascia trapelare la ricchezza degli affreschi che decorano questo gioiello. Si possono fare passeggiate tutt'attorno e consiglio assolutamente di visitarlo Really very nice. You don't expect there to be such a pretty palace in a small place like Casotto. In origine monastero certosino, acquisito dai Savoia e trasformato in castello di caccia per spedizioni venatorie e dove la Principessa Maria Clotilde trascorreva l'estate. Ancora oggi, frammenti della vita di corte emergono dalle stanze arredate in modo spartano e dagli aneddoti della guida Sig.ra Vilma. La dimora è in fase di restauro e non tutte le stanze sono accessibili, ma il fatto che sia riaperta, solo su prenotazione, dopo anni di chiusura è già un buon inizio. Costo del biglietto € 8.00. In fase di ristrutturazione presto verranno aperte nuove stanze. Majestic structure lost among splendid centenary plants .... we must not think of it as a classic castle because it was born as a monastery from which the structure, sobriety and isolation that characterize it. New rooms will be opened soon under renovation.

La certosa, tuttavia, non fu mai luogo di rappresentanza ma di svaghi privati: qui Vittorio Emanuele II, il re cacciatore, organizzava imponenti spedizioni venatorie e la principessa Maria Clotilde trascorreva l’estate. Molto interessante il tour guidato di un'ora e mezza circa, con una guida molto brava e preparata, all'interno della residenza con visita delle camere da letto con arredi originali, sala da pranzo, sala della musica, cappella privata, e in conclusione un'ala restaurata dell'antico monastero certosino. Prenotazione obbligatoria e costo 6 euro a persona. Merita la visita assolutamente.
