Confratelli e Consorelle si alternano, sempre presenti, inginocchiati, per offrire la propria preghiera affinché il Sacrificio di Gesù Cristo sconfigga la morte e con la Resurrezione dia nuova Vita al mondo intero. La facciata, rifatta nel '700, si presenta scandita da lesene, finestroni, statue, divisa in due ordini e termina con un timpano curvilineo. L' interno ha tre navate: una centrale che termina nel grande presbiterio con coro ligneo e tela ottocentesca della Madonna del Carmine, e due laterali in cui si aprono otto cappelle. Una nona cappella con cupola ottagonale è posta di lato al presbiterio, in linea con la navata destra: l'imponente macchina d'altare barocca in legno policromo azzurro e oro esalta la bella tela seicentesca della Madonna del Carmine tra i Santi Alberto da Trapani, Angelo di Sicilia e Pietro Tommaso. L' ultima cappella della navata sinistra, dedicata a San Michele Arcangelo, ospita il pregevole Presepe in pietra policroma attribuito a Stefano da Putignano e realizzato intorno al 1530. Bello il chiostro del convento, le cui volte a crociera sono sostenute da alte colonne doriche con archetti a tutto sesto. Le lunette sono decorate con affreschi, in ottimo stato di conservazione, che rappresentano scene bibliche del ciclo del profeta Elia. È presente anche una cripta presumibilmente appartenente ad una preesistente chiesa ipogea. The construction of the church and the convent of the same name dates back to the early 16th century. The façade, rebuilt in the 1700s, is marked by pilasters, large windows, statues, divided into two orders and ends with a curvilinear tympanum. The interior has three naves: a central one that ends in the large presbytery with a wooden choir and a nineteenth-century painting of the Madonna del Carmine, and two side aisles with eight chapels. A ninth chapel with an octagonal dome is placed to the side of the presbytery, in line with the right aisle: the imposing baroque altar machine in polychrome blue and gold wood enhances the beautiful seventeenth-century canvas of the Madonna del Carmine among the Saints Alberto da Trapani, Angelo di Sicilia and Pietro Tommaso. The last chapel in the left aisle, dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel, houses the fine polychrome stone nativity scene attributed to Stefano da Putignano and built around 1530. The cloister of the convent is beautiful, whose cross vaults are supported by tall Doric columns with round arches. The lunettes are decorated with frescoes, in excellent condition, representing biblical scenes from the cycle of the prophet Elijah. There is also a crypt presumably belonging to a pre-existing underground church.

È possibile vedere e anche fotografare tutti i giorni l'interno della Chiesa , l'altare restaurato circa 20 anni fa, presenta delle immagini in bianco e nero che fanno da cornice. Guardando l'altare, sul lato destro si trova un'affresco martellato durante il restauro, sempre sul lato destro c'è la cappella del Santissimo, con altare e cornice lignea restaurata di recente. Difronte alla chiesa si trova la cappella della Confraternita del Carmine, bellissima, conserva dipinti, statue e storia del Carmelo. Il chiostro adiacente è anche meravigliosamente affrescato. All'angolo dell'ingresso principale della chiesa troverete un alto rilievo della Madonna della ruota. Li, mi racconta un artista locale, si trovava una ruota dove venivano lasciati bambini che venivano poi accolti dalla finetrella dalle baie.
