★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il Castello è molto bello all'interno e ospita l'originale e creativa mostra dei presepi e la ricca esposizione delle ceramiche, così come si sono evolute nel tempo. Particolare è il cortile interno non 'pianeggiante' e addirittura roccioso.
The Castle is very beautiful inside and houses the original and creative exhibition of the nativity scenes and the rich display of ceramics, as they have evolved over time. Particular is the internal courtyard which is not 'flat' and even rocky.

Nice museum for ceramics. There are many potteries around the old town. There is something for every taste.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Located near the famous district of ceramics, in the oldest part of the village, the castle of Grottaglie was for centuries a symbol of the feudal power of the bishops of Taranto. Its historical stratification is still uncertain. At the beginning of the 15th century, however, the existence of the main internal tower, of the fortified walls, of the two curtain towers and of the rooms on the first floor destined to the residence of the archbishop remained plausible.
Today the castle is characterized by the presence of the ancient internal tower (over 28 meters) divided on four independent floors between them and the main building, where the episcopium was located, with an internal loggia.
The seat of the Museum
In the south-east wing, inside the rooms formerly used as stables, today there is an important Ceramics Museum: inside it there are numerous ceramic articles of domestic and ornamental use, representative of the local tradition.
