La storia S. Stefano si lega già dal 1682, in maniera indissolubile alla figura di Giuseppe Lanza Barresi, Duca di Camastra. In seguito a un cataclisma idrogeologico, il paese viene distrutto e ricostruito per l'impegno del Duca di Camastra assistito dal ll'Ing. Grunemberg. L'attuale centro storico si presenta come un quadrato imperfetto al.alcuni interno si inseriscono un rombo e due diagonali. La prima tappa l'abbiamo fatta al liceo artistico " Ciro Michele Esposito" accompagnati dal personale scolastico dove abbiamo potuto ammirare opere uniche realizzate da maestri ceramisti. Il Museo della Ceramica si trova presso palazzo Trabia e, accompagnati dal vicesindaco e dal direttore del museo il Dott. Fratantoni che sapientemente ci hanno illustrato la storia di S. Stefano di Camastra e spiegato le varie sale e l'importanza che la ceramica ha avuto nell'economia della città. Decisamente una scoperta di bellezze artistiche e paesaggistiche infatti, un meraviglioso panorama si presenta si affacciano alle terrazze che costeggiano il Museo. Da visitare!
