★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice medieval village. Nice complement to the archeological site next to it. The village in one street with few shops and there is the option to visit the tower and a small museum. Tower has quite a view of the surrounding valley.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small village on top of a hill. Beautiful views from the tower, worth visiting. Good restaurant beside the entrance gate. Bakery sells delicious panettone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rocca di Populonia is truly amazing. We visited with two small children (2 and 4 years old).
It's a small medieval village with parking nearby (app. 250 meters). The village is actually one street with some shops and a restaurant, which also sells great icecream. There's a public reatroom, which was very clean.
There's a museum (which unfortunately we didn't visit) and a castle with a tower you can climb. Our 4 year old could climb the tower himself, our 2 year old needed some assistance. The views on top of the tower were breathtaking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place to visit ofcourse. The only Etruscan city by the sea, situated in the Gulf of Baratti. But unfortunately we could just visit the castle because the rest was closed for the holidays

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This castle is fantastic, both from a architectural point of view and for the panorama you can enjoy from it. It dominates a fantastic bay which is worth a visit both in Summer and in Winter.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sunset in this place is unique! The "aperitivo" in the restaurant next to ruins is not only relaxing but take you back to Rome imperial time. A lot nice gift shops to buy local and artisan products.
