Restaurant Simposium is a good place to have a break while visiting the Greek Temples at Paestum. The restaurant, apart from the ordinary Italian formal meals (like first course, second course, etc) has a wide variety of pizza options even during the day. The restaurant is just a few minutes away from the Archaeological park. In the morning and during the day the restaurant offers breakfast and brunch.

!!!Avoid at all cost!!! Traveled all of Italy, lovely place. But, this restaurant was a nightmare. Stopped there to get some food since it is right across from the paestum ruins. After 5-10 mins waiting for a table to get clean off, I ordered quickly. 2 antipasta (calamari and mozzarella) and fettuccine alla bolognese. My Italian isn't the greatest but I made it clear we wanted to eat before going to the ruins. My friend met us there about 25 mins after we sat down and ordered, and we had not received anything. My friend speaks Italian and explained to them (at this point it had been 45 min since arriving and 35 min since ordering) that we want to eat so we can head to the ruins. The guy just avoided us and brought only bread, water, and a soda. So my friend went to the front and asked the status of the food. Meanwhile everyone else that arrived after us was getting their antipasta and first course. The waiter finally showed up with an attitude with the mozzarella plate and slammed it in the table with a few extra plates in a way the mozzarella slid to the other side of the plate due to force he through it on the table and extra plates bounced and sounded like they were about to break, all this while stepping on my foot and stormed off, telling nearby patrons"...American...f***...." at this point it had been 1:30 hr so we drop 50 euros and left. !!!Worst experience ever!!!

Perfect, went to fetch some Pizza for take away. Right after they re-opened at 18:00 - it took few minimal as the wood fire in the oven just started. Had a cold and fresh beer while waiting. The pizza were wonderful - even after 2km on the bicycle still hot and super tasty. Prices were very reasonable, 5 EUR for Margarita, 6 EUR for Diavola and 10 EUR for the one with Parma Bma, Ricola and fresh mozzarella.

Great pizza, great beer, the best evening view with temples lit up and friendly service. Extremely dog friendly too! What is not to like! Oh and good value too for a tourist hotspot.

It is a nice place and staff were accommodating. Food tasted good and the fresh fish really tasty. Their deserts were the low point of it all. A pity. They offered me a free espresso, which was kind. However, I found the prices relatively higher, especially comparing to alternatives around. Parking is somehow inconspicuously hidden 30 m around the corner, with a little visible entrance between the trees. But it is large and right next to a nice clean stream, which you cross on a bridge to enter the restaurant.
