We had the 'worst gastronomic experience!" The tortillas were under cooked, the meat was tough, the thinnest slice of lime with the tacos was obviously not enough! And neither was the "mere touch" of fresh coriander, that was not really fresh at all! Definitely not going back and absolutely do not recommend it to anyone! Far cry from authentic Mexican food!

Finally a Real Mexican Restaurant! In a city where any place with tex-mexish food pretend to be mexican, this is fresh air. We ate Tinga, jalapeno and a very typical dish with mexican mushroom. Fair prices, nice atmosphere!

Cool atmosphere but unfortunately the food was not great (soggy nachos, burnt refried beans, stuffed jalepenos with a filling that was a ball of cheese that just fell out). Wait staff was very friendly and orders came out on time. Great tequila. The only problem was the food.

Not very fancy interior, but everything in a very good condition. The food was very fresh, exceptional delicious and a more than reasonable low price. One of the staff soeaks goid english. The owner runs the place since 27 years. 100% recommendation.

The one star is for the decoration of the place, it is very detailed and as a Mexican it feels genuine, it is not like other places that they only put Mexican things at random, the objects are carefully selected and well thought, the second star is for the waiter and the fact that he informed me that this place takes in apprentices from all over the world, a very noble cause that I fully support. So for the minus one star because the food was below par, the antipasto of jalapeΓ±os filled with cheese was 2 jalapeΓ±os normal size filled with a dry soft cheese very much like tofu rectangular drowned in a sea of melted cheese of various types (according to the Italians in the group: not the best quality... and Italians know their cheese) that antipasto was 8€ and very very spicy. My main dish was a quesadilla (flour tortilla) with cheese and huitlachoche that I love and adore, it was absolutely a hit the fact that they even have it, it must be hard to keep fresh and even get in the first place, the waiter was kind enough to make it my main dish by adding the refried beans and white rice (I don’t understand why don’t they serve Mexican rice, it is super easy to make... said the Mexican) but we also have white rice in Mexico and it allows the taste of the other plates to come forward, in this case the burnt refried beans. I informed the waiter about this and he communicated an apology from the cook. We also ordered nachos, as an appetizer.... they came in last, asked two times for them. My bf said the cheese served with the nachos β€œfaceva schifo” and he ate my burned beans so he has low food standards. My Spanish friend said we will not be going back. Goes without saying that the four of us will not be returning, what is the point of going to a restaurant when you can cook better yourself at home... and yes, it is possible to cook good Mexican with the ingredients found here in Rome. I was reluctant to write an honest review given the owner’s harsh response to the response given to other reviews that did not favor the place, unprofessional and closed minded, for most people the owner blamed the review on the fact that the ones reviewing may not have experience with Mexican food, the country or that they simply where not Mexican, I really wonder what excuse the owner will have for my review as I am Mexican, have eaten a lot of Mex food and also know how to cook it, in Mexico AND abroad. I want to praise the alter for keeping a positive outlook with us since we where quite vocal about what we did not find up to par and want to appreciate the cool vibe of the place, I believe that raising food standards would make this place a hit, and would like to hear that it happens as I take pride in our food.

The " sause" from the dishes where mixed in the plastic bag. One of the dishes had only 4 pieces of meat in it, so basicly it almust was on lenses in that box. I have never had so bad experience ever with ordren in :(
