★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gelegen in een pittoresk gehuchtje san gusme, in het midden van de chianti streek ligt dit schitterende siciliaanse restaurant.
Een erg vriendelijke bediening met de nodige uitleg in het engels. Suggesties bij kiezen zijn het volgen waard! Men werkt met verse producten en dat merk je. Je kan er vlees en vis krijgen maar het accent ligt op visgerechten.
Kies ook eens voor een lekkere siciliaanse wijn bij je gerecht en vergeet ook geen typische dessertwijn te bestellen achteraf.
Ook een zeer uitgebreidde wijnkaart van toscaanse wijnen.
Antipasti : inktvis gepaneerd met broodkruim en kruiden, basilicum olie en aubergine... Zalig!
Pasta met zeeduivel en tomatensaus... Heerlijk pikant! Juist goed!
Hoofdgerecht "ombrino" (gelijkwaardig aan zeebaars) met een slaatje of gegrilde aardappeltjes...
En een bom van een dessert : chocolade gebak met hazelnootvulling... Oh zo lekker!

 Located in a picturesque hamlet of San Gusme, in the middle of the Chianti region is this beautiful Sicilian restaurant.
A very friendly service with the necessary explanation in English. Suggestions for choosing are worth following! They work with fresh products and you notice that. You can get meat and fish but the emphasis is on fish dishes.
Also choose a delicious Sicilian wine with your dish and don't forget to order a typical dessert wine afterwards.
Also a very extensive wine list of Tuscan wines.
Antipasti: squid breaded with breadcrumbs and herbs, basil oil and eggplant ... Blessed!
Pasta with monkfish and tomato sauce ... Wonderfully spicy! Just right!
Main course "ombrino" (equivalent to sea bass) with a salad or grilled potatoes ...
And a bomb of a dessert: chocolate pastry with hazelnut filling ... Oh so tasty!
I will return!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ottimo ristorante di cucina siciliana, primi piatti eccellenti, pesce freschissimo, dolci deliziosi. Il proprietario e la moglie Francesca sono simpaticissimi. Se dovessimo ripassare di qui, ci torneremo sicuramente!!!
Excellent Sicilian cuisine restaurant, excellent first courses, fresh fish, delicious desserts. The owner and his wife Francesca are very nice. If we come back from here, we will definitely be back !!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A San Gusmè, un borgo mediovale del Chianti senese, ho trovato un ristorante "La Porta del Chianti" dove oltre alla cucina tradizionale Toscana si possono degustare specialità siciliane. Il proprietario infatti conoscendo i segreti dei piatti siciliani continua a mantenere vive ed attuali le tradizioni sicule. Non vi dico la croccantezza dei cannoli, la squisitezza degli spaghetti con le sarde e poi i rigatoni alla Norma, la caponata e i calamari alla Norma gratinati con pangrattato alle erbe crema di pomodorini e basilico melanzane fritte e ricotta salata.
Da non perdere....e .... buon appetito !!!
In San Gusmè, a medieval village in the Sienese Chianti, I found a restaurant "La Porta del Chianti" where, in addition to traditional Tuscan cuisine, Sicilian specialties can be tasted. In fact, the owner, knowing the secrets of Sicilian dishes, continues to keep Sicilian traditions alive and current. I won't tell you the crunchiness of the cannoli, the delicacy of the spaghetti with sardines and then the rigatoni alla Norma, the caponata and the calamari alla Norma au gratin with herb breadcrumbs, cream of cherry tomatoes and basil, fried eggplant and salted ricotta.
Not to be missed .... and .... Bon appetit !!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was with my wife and 2 friends in San Gusme for 3 days and we ate here for ALL 3 days!!! The food is excellent, the view is spectacular and the owner is simply a fantastic person. Anyone looking for a really authentic Tuscan meal has to eat here.
