★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The location is perfect, staff is friendly and the room was fine with air-conditioning and a big bright bathroom. The beds were a bit hard/stiff, but we slept well anyway. As a student, I was surprised that there were no hostels in Tortona, and since AirBnB is expensive here, our stay at Il Cavallino was fairly priced at around 80 euro for a twin bed room a single night.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rooms are in old fashioned style, bathrooms need to be renovated. Breakfast is OK. During my stay there was no hot water and it seems that this was no malfunction! Good location.
