The food was excellent (apart from the bread, which was stale), but only three stars because of the service. The waiter/owner is condescending to the extreme: he talks over you and essentially tells you what to order. He then got my order wrong (presumably because he was barely listening to us) and was very supercilious when we pointed it out. He spoke to us in English in a very patronising manner even when we were trying to talk in Italian (I understand if our Italian is bad, but that doesn't excuse his rudeness). The other waiter (a woman who was lovely) also made mistakes, and everything took a very long time to come. But the food was really very good - only go if you can bear the bad service. We decided to cut it short and not to stay for dessert and went to the gelateria a few streets away instead.

This is the worst dining experience of our 14-day vacation in Northern Italy. Mediocre food with an all-time low tagliate. Staff was very rude from the moment on that it was clear that we were not Italian. Usually we get by with a lot of gestures, smiles and laughs. But here we felt like we were seen as a major inconvenience. We both had a primi and a secondi. 3 of the 4 dishes were passable but the tagliate was the dryest cut of meat I have ever had a restaurant. When it was time to pay our receipt they even had the audacity to fabricate an additional charge for one of the courses. After we pointed that out, they made an excuse that they must have forgot to change the price on the menu. And reduced the price too the orginal. After we've been treated as second class citizen this all felt too coincidental. I would suggest to avoid this place like the plague if you are not Italian (other reviews seem to have identical experiences) . There's plenty of better options in the area.
