★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food is delicious. Traditional Tuscan cooking with no pretences. It's hearty, it's comforting, it's satisfying. As wonderful as the cooking is, it's the staff here that make this a truly memorable place. They are quirky in a uniquely charming way. They make sure you order just right and will make no bones about telling you if you are ordering way too much.
We love this place and would highly recommend it.
It's easy to miss so here's how to find it. Take the San Donato exit off the autostrada, turn in the direction of Tavernelle. Follow the road till you come to a roundabout. Turn right at the roundabout and you will immediately notice a big open car park. Park there and it's right across.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to eat. Katja and her staff are perfect hosts. The terrace is beautiful and Maria Rosa, the chef cooks delightful. Try the different crostini, the Bistecca alla Fiorentina and the wonderful bread salad. Great choice of local wines. Reasonable prices. Absolutely recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were in Tavarnelle on vacation for a week with ample time to check out the local restaurants. We returned to borgo antico for three meals. Service was great. The food was very good and the prices were very reasonable to inexpensive. We loved this restaurant and can't recommend it enough. From where I'm from we would refer to borgo antico as a neighborhood gem. Good food, good service and very inexpensive. Thank you for making our time in Tavarnelle so magical.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a great experience here. We went full Italian with antipasti, primi, secondi and vegetable sides (with drinks and coffee), coming to €30 each. Great atmosphere in the outside seating area with every table full and funny, energetic staff. The food itself was great and I think it would be hard to go wrong with a lot of the dishes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I ride bike from Florence to here, after I finish the meal, a sweet lady who work here ask me to stay longer and refresh until the weather goes cooler, and give me a small ice cream for free, it s a small ice cream but it s the best. She is very kind, I appreciate that. By the way, the food is also great!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A beautiful place in the center of Tuscany, classic and delicious Italian food, the owner Katia (a.k.a. Mama) is very open to people and she and her staff are wonderful hosts. The whole experience at Borgo Antico is friendly and of course really tasty! I totally recommend it and will go back there for sure!

The woman there was the most energetic and enthusiastic waiter I have ever met. She took amazing care of us and overall it was an amazing experience and I highly recommend visiting here!
