★ ★ ★ ★ ★ OK... when you walk in and ask if the restaurant accepts credit cards, and they are kind rude in stating that if you are just buying a coffee, they would not accept that form of payment, that really made me feel unwelcome. I was having more than a coffee, which I spent after all, $13 Euros... Also felt that the staff was really doing a favor in waiting on you.... not too friendly ! As I said... they made me feel unwelcome !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The first plus for this restaurant is that it was open at 2pm when most others would not feed us.
Food was good, not great. Lamb (eur 16) and Summer antipasto (15 eur) were served to us at a slow pace by overworked waiters who were running around trying to serve everyone.
Location is perfect after visiting San Francesco.
We returned later for coffee and it was quiet and pleasant on the terrace.

I love basilica very much and I visit this restaurant to see the basilica, the most beautiful and peaceful building. This restaurant, Good taste and very nice staffs welcoming me. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a lovely lunch here and a half bottle of wine which came to under €50 for 3 people. The food was delicious and the restaurant had great views over the basilica. Good wheelchair accessible entrance too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Looking over San Francesco Cathedral in Assisi a place like this could easily be a tourist trap, but it’s not. The food here is genuine and the desserts are excellent. In an adjoining room is an alternative venue for tea, coffee and desserts.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rude. We asked if they serve the table? Cause seems it’s a bit empty. And the guy didn’t even look at me, just said ‘yes’ and kept talking to others. So we said thank you and we returned to our table. Waited for 10 mins, he passed us 2 times without even looking at us, or asking us. In the end another lady asked us rudely: so do you want to order something! Well sure, cause we are not sitting here just for enjoying the view? Such a pity. Beautiful location but horrible service. Never will I forget the rude attitude and the rude face of that guy.

Location: 7/10, nice view on San Francesco. Also the interior design is nice
Food: 5/10, the cappuccino was cold, the croissant has been reheated in the microwave hence flaccid
Service: 2/10, we sat outside but nobody came so we had to order inside and the waiter inside has been rude. We asked an empty croissant but we got one with marmalade. It was empty, not a lot of people to serve
Bill: 5/10, average price but we paid for a non-existing service

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ #1 rule for tourists is not to eat/drink at any place with a view (especially of a tourist
attraction) or in a main piazza without expecting to pay top dollar for bottom-notch food. Not the case here, and what a pleasant surprise! We stopped in because we had a half hour to kill before our dinner reservations and had a hankering for a spritz. The service was friendly, the sunset view romantic, and the bill only ten euros for two strong spritz and loads of chips and peanuts. Amazing!!
