★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is THE hidden gem of a restaurant in Florence. Give it a try, you won’t regret it. Worth a taxi ride, a walk and a bus ride. Delicious meals in an amazing relaxing and friendly atmosphere.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ehem. Not only is this restaurant so picturesque that your date will have his/her clothes off before you make it back to the hotel it also has quality food and really accommodating staff. I had the beef which was cooked to perfection and the sauce was beautiful. My partner had the rissotto which again was perfect and to top it all off the wine list was longer than R kellys rap sheet, Perfection.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As early birds, We were supposed to get 20% discount, but didn't get it for some unknown reason..
The problem was, that the main course we ordered "slow cooked ribs" where more fat, bones and rubber than meat. It was served with nothing else than overcooked spinach and mournay sauce...
The starter we got (pasta with rabbit) was decent but nothing special. The price (without wine) was €85 which is just ridiculous considering the poor quality of food.
On the plus side, the restaurant was nice looking.
We cannot recommend this place to anyone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Booked it with The Fork, had 20% off and good reviews. I trusted them but got totally disappointing experience.
The fact of finding the restaurant empty on a Sunday evening didn’t seem good but we gave it a go.
The waiter is kind but did not know the wines they could offers by glasses. Made me check for the cheapest wines in the menu in order to know the one he could offer us.
The food is overpriced in my opinion as the ingredients are of good quality but the combination of flavors, temperature and texture was pretty much improvable... had a feeling of being in a restaurant that has good ingredients but don’t know how to pair them nor serve them.
The only positive point here was the place itself and that’s why my rate. It’s modern, classy and cozy.
The location of the place is not the best either.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This restaurant is definitely not on the main tourists’ radar but it is 1000% worth visiting. It’s cosy, a bit far from town centre (even though it takes about 25 min walk to get there so not an impossible task) and the food is superb. The chef experiments with flavours and textures and dishes are little pieces of art. You cannot go there before 8:00 pm and I would recommend to book in advance. The restaurant is part of the Hotel Astro Mediceo, very pretty hotel full of designer furnitures. The offer is for a fixed menu with no wine (about €45 per person excluding drinks and dessert) or a wine tasting one (€60 per person including a different glass of wine accompanying the various dishes and excluding dessert). They may also do a la carte and the cost would depend on what you chose (perhaps just give them a call to confirm because they may change, they surely have since last time I went). It may not be cheap but it’s not too expensive either and after all perfection and high quality never come cheaply: it could be a nice one-off treat, you will not regret it..
