β β β β β None of the staff spoke any English. Luckily they had at least an English menu available so we were able to know what food we were ordering.
Food was good and the prices were okay as well. It's a little bit out of the main tourist area, which is good because it's a bit less crowded.

β β β β β After 2 years living in Ravenna center, Al 45 has become our whole family favorite restaurant in Ravenna center considering location/price/quality/variety/service. Children friendly,
beautiful terrace, great food, extremely nice owner and workers, we enjoyed every meal, lunch, dinner, pizza, pasta, fish, meat, salads.... they just offer everything and with best quality. You should make a reservation on weekends for dinner or you will be disappointed to miss it!
They may not speak good english but they love to learn and are best in hand language!:))

β β β β β Unfortunately, over the past years, since we first discovered the restaurant in 2015, the level of service has deteriorated to the point where we can no longer endure it - despite the fabulous cuisine! This observation seems to coincide with a noticeable decrease in ratings by fellow users here.
We might try this restaurant again in a few years, hoping that feedback like this will be taken to heart...
To be more precise regarding the service, everything was still "okay" in the beginning, when you simply had to wait a lot longer than at other venues because of the disorganized staff. Nowadays, however, you have to be prepared for outright rudeness. For example, you had better not dare to be 10 minutes early when you reserve a table at the opening hour around 7 pm: you might receive a serious scolding instead of a friendly greeting and a polite request to come back a little later...
2 stars, only because the food remains excellent.

β β β β β Location was fabulous but the service was absolutely terrible. Very chaotic. No one took our order until after an hour. Once ordered, when the food came finally, they forgot my order. Not enough waiters or just poor management.
Tarnished some of our experience with this place.

Of the whole food experience. First, location. Stunning is an understatement. Sitting outside for dinner time is a dream, seeing the night time approaching while staring at UNESCO sites is definitely a rare experience. The staff was friendly but the service was chaotic and the personnel looked overwhelmed and frantic. It took us more than 40 minutes to hear our bill was taken care of, and the only way they could compensate for this was by offering the wine we have enjoyed throughout the dinner. Finally, the food was average. The seafood starter was nice, as well as the blue mussels. However, the risotto was more of a warm rice salad, as it missed completely the creaminess and togetherness of this preparation (and the rice was definitely too al dente). The final tray of fried fish was also a mix of good (the grilled fish) and bland βjust okβ fried seafood(it tasted like a premade frozen mix). I do not know whether it was an especially bad day (it was a red day due to the saint protector of the city) but we expected better than this. A missed chance for me.
