β β β β β Excellent archeological and natural side in the Syracuse mountain highland with walking accesses totally deepen in the nature. The short routes are available for children and families but the longer ones are more challenging but absolutely beautiful and energies regenerating. The area of the highland community has very old small villages where is possible to try very typical Sicilian food in homemade quality and a local kind of pizza named "pizzolo". It's also possible to find location in almost all villages, in b&b or rural tourism farms and guesthouses.

β β β β β The reserve is closed as of late December 2021. Signs were only posted at the ticket office when you get to the reserve and no information online letting you know it is closed.

β β β β β Pantalica is a wonderful place for a day hike in Sicily. You can even take the kids its so easy. It's about a 1.5 hour drive from Catania, just be on your gaurd the drive is a little scary if your no use to driving in Sicily. Pantalica has a upper trail and lower trail both are very well maintained with beatiful views of the gorge. If your a rock climber there are some really good cave routes in the groge just take the upper trail and you'll see the climbing area. Very cool!!!! If your planning on a summer visit make sure to bring lots of water, On hot days take the lower trail and you will come across some nice fresh water swimming holes.

β β β β β This little fall place is amazing. Feels like heaven after the long itinerary that has to be done to reach there. I must say it was my most interesting experience from Sicily. The pictures were incredible. Take your sneakers and some water with you. Flow the signs on the road. The Google location is not good! You should pursue the Necropole of Pantalica instead.
