Si presenta bene, probabilmente perché è più distante rispetto ai precedenti rifugi della pista altomontana. Beware of cold in winter, the fireplace cannot heat the whole room (due to the size). It looks good, probably because it is more distant than the previous shelters of the high mountain track.
M	Massimo Scuderi on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il rifugio monte Scavo si trova lungo la pista altomontana dell'Etna a quota 1500 circa s.l.m. È aperto tutto l'anno e al suo interno è arredato con un tavolo circolare al centro della stanza ed una panca anch'essa circolare. Su due lati della stanza c'è un muretto in mattoncini che è ideale sia per poggiare le cose ma anche per riposare dato che è abbastanza largo. È molto pulito e vi prego di lasciarlo così come lo trovate. Non c'è elettricità e fuori dalla casa c'è un pozzo con acqua sempre pieno ma ovviamente non potabile. Il rifugio è situato letteralmente ai piedi del vulcano per cui basta uscire fuori e si nota la maestosità dell'etna che si staglia davanti ai vostri occhi. Per raggiungerlo, se non state attraversando la pista altomontana, potete andarci a piedi da "fontana murata" in territorio di Maletto, attraversare "le case del bosco chiuso", alla fine della salita, circa un'ora e mezza, troverete le indicazioni di svoltare a destra e dopo circa 30 minuti lo troverete alla vostra sinistra. The Monte Scavo mountain hut is located along the Etna high-mountain track at an altitude of around 1500 meters above sea level. It is open all year round and inside is furnished with a circular table in the center of the room and a circular bench too. On two sides of the room there is a small brick wall that is ideal both for putting things down but also for resting as it is quite wide. It is very clean and please leave it as you find it. There is no electricity and outside the house there is a well with water always full but obviously not drinkable. The refuge is literally located at the foot of the volcano so you just have to go outside and notice the majesty of Etna that stands out before your eyes. To reach it, if you are not crossing the altomontana slope, you can go there on foot from the "walled fountain" in the territory of Maletto, cross "the houses of the closed forest", at the end of the climb, about an hour and a half, you will find the indications of turn right and after about 30 minutes you will find it on your left.

Il disgusto è verso quelli che non si possono definire esseri umani ma....barbari che hanno lasciato un grosso sacco della spazzatura (ovviamente aperto) sbattendosene della natura e pensando che la "loro" immondizia possa portarla via qualcuno. Il cartello all'ingresso della pista altamontana recita chiaramente "porta con te la spazzatura che produci per non lasciare sporco. The place is gorgeous not far away there is a breathtaking landscape. The disgust is towards those who cannot be defined as human beings but ... barbarians who have left a big garbage bag (obviously open), not giving a damn about nature and thinking that "their" garbage can be taken away by someone. The sign at the entrance to the Altamontana track clearly states "take the garbage you produce with you so as not to leave dirt.

Sporcizia!!!! 0 stelle per i porci che lasciano la spazzatura, vergognatevi!! The place, for mountain lovers is wonderful, 5 stars. Unfortunately, the three stars deserve it for the structure. Not maintained by the forest. No wood. Dirt!!!! 0 stars for the pigs that leave the garbage, be ashamed !!

Cmq va bene lo stesso. Signori è la nostra MUNTAGNA Wonderful and unique places the silence is indescribable. A	Antonio Caruso on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Uno dei rifugi più ben tenuti, esperienza meravigliosa,stare in mezzo alla natura e godere di certe cose non ha prezzo....meno panoramico rispetto ad altri rifugi ma forse perché meno visitato ha subito meno atti vandalici. One of the most well-kept shelters, wonderful experience, being in the middle of nature and enjoying certain things is priceless .... less scenic than other shelters but perhaps because less visited it has suffered less vandalism.
