★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ottimo ristorante con un bel giardino spazioso ed una cucina di qualità, il personale è molto cordiale, ci siamo trovati bene.
Come poche volte faccio ho voluto fare i complimenti allo chef per un Cavatello al gambero rosso e burratta eccezionali e per una Seppia con cipolla di Vatolla formidabile, assolutamente da provare.
Da turista che vuole esplorare il Cilento consiglierei di aggiungere al menù qualche ricetta tipica del posto in più, migliorerebbe ulteriormente il locale!!!
Ci tornerei, lo consiglio.
 Excellent restaurant with a beautiful spacious garden and quality cuisine, the staff is very friendly, we enjoyed it.
As a few times I do, I wanted to congratulate the chef for an exceptional Cavatello with red shrimp and burratta and for a terrific Cuttlefish with Vatolla onion, absolutely to try.
As a tourist who wants to explore Cilento I would recommend adding some more typical local recipes to the menu, it would further improve the place !!!
I would stay there again, recommend it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Buon ristorante nelle vicinanze del castello di Castellabate e della piazza che si affaccia sul golfo con una bella vista panoramica. Noi abbiamo pranzato all'aperto visto che la giornata lo permetteva e il cibo era molto buono, unica nota stonata è stata la difficoltà del personale nel seguire le ordinazioni ma giustificabile vista la grande affluenza di quel giorno, comunque sempre molto "educati". Prezzi nella media. Ci tornerò.
Good restaurant near the castle of Castellabate and the square overlooking the gulf with a beautiful panoramic view. We had lunch outdoors as the day allowed it and the food was very good, the only discordant note was the difficulty of the staff in following the orders but justifiable given the large turnout of that day, however always very "polite". Average prices. I'll be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Avoid appetizer Antipasto del Golfo at all costs! Overpriced and ridiculous. Service was not too good. Watch your bill items, they overcharged us by mistake. Pizza was so-so and it gave me gas.

After a long day and wanting to go to Castellabate, I drove up (didn't think my little Fiat Panda was going to make it, but it did) and parked. It was almost 10 pm and I was starving. I don't usually eat at the first place I see, but the menu here looked good so I gave it a chance.
I was SO hungry, my brain wasn't working right and I accidentally ordered the Napoletana pizza instead of Margherita! When it came out with anchovies, I thought they'd made a mistake, but realized I had been the one to err! I was just going to eat it, but the waiter sensed something was wrong and immediately offered to make another pizza, the one I actually wanted. This is NOT typical in Italy. America, yes, but Italy, no. I was so impressed with this and they insisted it was just a pizza and they'd make what I wanted. It was ready in no time and I was so happy with my pizza and glass of wine in such a delightful setting.
Highly recommend Il Calesse!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were here as a wedding venue. The food was excellent as was the service. Apparently, the waiting staff do not get any more money irrespective of whether it is a private function or not. Please show your appreciation by leaving a generous tip, they really do work so hard

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent fresh fish dishes. Very friendly staff. Average prices. Superb views in and around the restaurant in Castellabate. Medieval village with many narrow streets. Really worthwile to visit and have a nice lunch seeing completely the Amalfi Coast and the Island Capri on a bright sunny day.
