Great location, roomy apartment... Really feel like your home in Florence

Small but great location in the citycenter only 5mins walking fro your door to the cathedral

Spacious very clean with fridge microwave jug complementary coffee etc & access to laundry facilities in same building

Great location, clean apartment and had everything in it so you can cook yourself. Poor wifi and late check-in is only things wrong

Residence La Medicea is a very nice accomodation in the centre of Florence. The rooms are quite big and very clean with free WiFi. The staff was very helpful. The hotel has a terrace with a very nice view of the Cappelle Medicee

The 3 stars are for the excellent location in the heart of Florence, easily accessible to the train station as well as all the principal plazas. If you don't much care about the pigeon-hole room but your only interest is in seeing and enjoying Florence then this is the place to stay. My wife and I enjoyed our stay inspite of a rather rude, unhelpful hostess - wish she could be a little polite even if she couldn't help with any of the deficiencies of our abode ... no mobile phone charge point, no coffee machine, low water pressure, hardly a place to stand in the area called bathroom... besides many others. This is not an inexpensive place to stay but still a value for money for it's superb location. Lucky owner, I guess, as he can pass this "rat trap" as a 1 br suite (residence). Thanks Giulia for not showing up again during our stay after the first fleeting glimpse to register and take our payment ... clever ploy to stay away from unpleasantries. Just a suggestion improve the absolute necessities even if you can't do anything about the size of the room.

The apartments are in a good location, close to Piazza del Duomo and at walkable distance from other tourist locations or the train station. The building is safe and clean, has an elevator and a nice top terrace where you can enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. We stayed 4 people in an apartment with one bedroom and one kitchen with a sofa. The apartment is pretty comfortable and good size, if you're going to stay for a couple of days only. For more days, a two bedroom apartment would have been better.

What a disappointment! The apartments have no check-in person until during certain times of each day. There is a code for the front street door that is not provided to you until you place a long distance call to someone! There was no answer at first and this person had to call me back to give me the code to open the front door. The elevator doesn’t work and there was a couple stuck inside and unable to get out. The police had to be called and of course they didn’t know the front door code or the person to call to let the police themselves get inside to help!!! What a horrible experience! All of the lights on every floor and every hallway turned off to pitch black darkness! It feels extremely dangerous to be inside! Once you get to your room there is a note that states “ a gift was given to you: you are given a gift of toilet paper and soap”. Give me a break! When you pay for a space in lodging, soap and toilet paper are expected and not a gift. When I opened up the box for soap, it was empty! There are also instructions for you to empty your own garbage and take to someplace in Florence. I have never stayed in a hotel or apartment that has required a guest to empty their own garbage and in a city where they do not even know where to put it! The noise is horrible from the screaming people and tourists below on street-level and the sirens of the police blaring every 30 minutes. If you choose to stay in this pit of a hotel/apartment you better bring earplugs and a flashlight to find your way up the metal mesh back staircase. That’s right metal mesh stairs! The only thing that was good about this place was the kind receptionist who checked me in the day after I arrived. I would never recommend this to anyone!
