★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nella zona alla destra dell’arco trecentesco, che era l’entrata dell’antico ospedale del Salvatore, sono stati ritrovati numerosi reperti romani.
Purtroppo nel corso dei secoli vari rimaneggiamenti hanno danneggiato anche la parte medioevale sovrastante.
I lavori di restauro degli anni 20 del secolo scorso, hanno in parte rimediato a questo; un esempio è il portico medioevale, che spicca nella via di Santo Stefano Rotondo, al cui interno, protetto da inferriate sono visibili diversi reperti antichi (primi secolo d.C.) fra i quali sarcofagi, bassorilievi, epigrafi, capitelli e parti di colonne.
Alle spalle verso l’ospedale è visibile anche un altro manufatto medioevale di rilievo.
Nell'area circostante ulteriori scavi degli anni 70 del secolo scorso, hanno portato alla luce resti di antichi edifici romani (sono visibili nella zona all'interno dell’ospedale).
Quanto sopra, unitamente ai molti ritrovamenti eseguiti nella zona (non visitabili), renderebbe auspicabile la creazione di un museo, per permettere la fruibilità di tali opere.
 In the area to the right of the fourteenth-century arch, which was the entrance to the ancient hospital of the Savior, numerous Roman artifacts have been found.
Unfortunately over the centuries various alterations have also damaged the medieval part above.
The restoration works of the 20s of the last century have partially remedied this; an example is the medieval portico, which stands out in via di Santo Stefano Rotondo, inside which, protected by railings, various ancient finds (early century AD) are visible, including sarcophagi, bas-reliefs, epigraphs, capitals and parts of columns.
Behind the hospital, another important medieval artefact is also visible.
In the surrounding area, further excavations from the 1970s have brought to light the remains of ancient Roman buildings (they are visible in the area inside the hospital).
The above, together with the many finds carried out in the area (not open to visitors), would make the creation of a museum desirable, to allow the usability of these works.
