2 mal eine RIBBoot ausgeliehen gehabt im Urlaub, weil es so schön war. RIB/ Schlauchboot bis 40 Ps ohne Führerschein. Halbtägig 130€ Ganztägig 175€ + (35€ wenn der Anker verlorenen geht) Bei der Anker Vorfall war das Personal in wenigen Minuten da. Alles ohne Stress und Ärger. Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Preisleistung sehr gut. Unvergessliches Meer und Küste. Empfehlenswert Capo Vaticano ca. 25 min mit dem Boot Danke an das Team Wir kommen gern wieder

Giro in gommone da Tropea a Capo Vaticano. In buona compagnia di Alessandro e Luca si scorrazza lungo la costa visitando (senza attraccare) le più belle spiagge della Costa degli Dei qui in Calabria.

Steer clear of this place! After having accidently dropped the anchor on our boat trip, what followed was borderline chicanery by the company's owner (which - needless to say - destroyed the better part of our holiday enjoyment). Being first time boat drivers we dind't realise the anchor had to be actively tied to the boat before being dropped, so it got lost. Upon return it was pointed out (remarkably condescendingly) that it is refundable upon 50€. Having feared reimbursement claims and thus already looked up Amazon prizes we - out of mere curiosity - inquired how they came up with the sum in comparison to the 26,90€ of Amazon's best selling (totally the same looking and including 30m of rope) anchor. As a reaction to that, the owner, absolutely out of the blue, flew off the handle. He forced us to go get a new anchor at the Nautic Center a couple of kilometers away and bring it back immediately, which ended up costing us not only €95 but also a lot of time and nerves. It can be argued if it is common knowledge that the anchor is not connected to the boat in the first place (it probably isn't) but it surely should be mentioned during the instructions. These, however, were rather unprofessional, lasted 1 minute and were held in the most rudimentary English imaginable. While he might even have been right in rem (to insist on reimbursement), the manner of "conversation" as well as sending us on a quest to get it back was simply unacceptable. We were yelled at aggresively (way beyond what could be excused as the usual Italian temper), treated unreasonably presumptuously, and made feel almost like criminals. All of this despite the fact that we did not even communicate with the owner directly but were merely translated by a staff member and never raised voice or anything the like; there was no reason at all to feel offended. He might have had a bad day (or - more probably - simply have been a choleric) but this is no way to treat one's clients. In addition to the whole anchor incident we (as well as the next customer) were charged another - rather arbitrary - 50€ fuel fee (almost the same amount that we paid for gas for our rental car for a whole week...). Regrettably, neither on site nor at the travel bureau where we had booked the boat two days earlier (STA Tropea), was there any reference to this additional hidden cost, not even though it seems to have been a pre-fixed amount. Also, due to the allegedly high waves that day, which was why the boat could not start from the local beach, we were taken and fetched to the harbor in what was (especially on the return trip) a car that would have never been licensed in any other country - a two-seater for three persons (we had to sit on each other's lap), loose cable everywhere, dusty and broken dashboard, non-functioning speedometer... Oh yeah, the boat trip itself was very enjoyable and definitely something you want to do when you're in Calabria - just not at Shark Bay.

We booked a snorkeling trip with Shark Bay Rental Boat Excursions. Luca was a lovely captain of our boat. The trip was super nice and we saw some cool fish and even an octopus! We were the only non-Italian people on the boat but Luca and the other guests made sure we could understand everything as well, very nice! Definitely recommended to take the trip!
