★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The ferry port is very confusing for foot passengers and seems to be dangerous, as all the cars and trucks drive everywhere. The staff was friendly and helpful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Centrally located for Livorno town. Depending on the Vessel berth. The middle one cuts you off from getting in / out to Town. However, bars & restaurants are closer, just at the Port gate. From € to €€€.
If ported next to the Sardinea ferry, you have to enter the old town. This Saturday night, the main street & canal sideways were buzzing with local youth meeting each other.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow, terrible port. One of the worst in the Mediterranean. If you are not part of an expensive excursion from your cruise ship, be prepared to pay 5 Euro for their mandatory shuttle bus. They will NOT allow you to walk and taxis are not allowed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very historical and interesting canal town.... and still a market town.... .One of the early fortress was built by Matilda of Tuscany.... who must have be a very positive and assertive woman.... In the 13 century when the harbour in Pisa silted up Livorno became the main port of Tuscany .....an enlightened city, with free trade and attracting traders from around the Mediterranean....Visited Livorno before boarding the over night ferry to Bastia ...
