Questa storica porta inizialmente detta Porta Postierla, quindi ribattezzata Soliana (o ancora della Rocca) si trova incastonata tra le mura della fortezza Albornoz, nel versante orientale della città.
La struttura di questa porta è particolarmente bella e riprende in parte, per i materiali utilizzati, lo stile delle “strisce” bianche e scure del profilo del Duomo.
Nel 1297 il papa Bonifacio VIII, analogamente a quanto fatto sulla porta ad ovest della città (Porta Maggiore), fece mettere la propria statua sulla nicchia sopra la porta stessa. Oggi la statua, dopo un periodo di restauro, vi è stata ricollocata ed è visibile. La porta è ormai un accesso per lo più pedonale che permette di raggiungere la parte inferiore della città percorrendo una ripida stradina.
 Porta Soliana (or Porta Rocca)
This historic gate initially called Porta Postierla, then renamed Soliana (or della Rocca) is nestled between the walls of the Albornoz fortress, on the eastern side of the city.
The structure of this door is particularly beautiful and partly reflects, due to the materials used, the style of the dark and white "stripes" of the profile of the Duomo.
In 1297 Pope Boniface VIII, similarly to what was done on the west gate of the city (Porta Maggiore), had his statue placed in the niche above the gate itself. Today the statue, after a period of restoration, has been relocated there and is visible. The gate is now a mostly pedestrian access that allows you to reach the lower part of the city along a steep street.
