★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The funicular is nice if you have parked at the train station or have arrived via train. If you have small children or mobility issues, there is a shuttle bus that will take you to the other side of town from the funicular stop.
If you are driving to Orvieto, search Google Maps for "Parcheggio Orvieto Percorso Meccanizzato", it is a pay lot located on the other side of town that has an elevator that puts you into town much closer to the sights.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you don't want any problem with car park in town you could get funiculars and the towns centre is in walking distance. You get a funicolare at Orvieto Scalp and you have a spectacular view of the town and the surrounding countryside
