Una delle porte, la seconda x importanza, la prima porta bari, monumentale era l'ingresso principale, ci si poteva accedere tramite un portone enorme che custodiva la città. Anche porta Matera aveva un accesso simile, solo che su di esso si affacciava la torre di avvistamento munita di scolo x olio bollente e dardi infuocati contro gli invasori calabresi (borboni). Tali mura visibili ancora oggi fanno parte delle mura di cinta del vecchissimo monastero di clausura con adiacente chiesa di San Francesco dentro le mura. Una storia bellissima cantata e scritta che parla della mia città.

An ancient gate that gave access to the fortified city of Altamura. One of the doors, the second x importance, the first Bari door, monumental was the main entrance, you could access it through a huge door that guarded the city. Porta Matera also had a similar access, only the lookout tower overlooked it, equipped with a drain for boiling oil and flaming darts against the Calabrian invaders (Bourbons). These walls still visible today are part of the surrounding walls of the very old cloistered monastery with the adjacent church of San Francesco inside the walls. A beautiful story sung and written about my city.
