★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La prima cattedrale di Gravina. Realizzata sfruttata un complesso di grotte naturali preesistenti. Il pavimento è un enorme lastrone di basalto e all'ingresso vi sono impresse delle orme di animali preistorici
 The first cathedral of Gravina. Realized exploited a complex of pre-existing natural caves. The floor is a huge slab of basalt and at the entrance there are footprints of prehistoric animals

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chiesa molto suggestiva però lasciata un po' in stato di degrado, soprattutto il camminamento dal cancello all'ingresso della grotta che risulta pieno di immondizia e erba non curata. Necessiterebbe maggiore manutenzione.
Very suggestive church but left a little in a state of degradation, especially the walkway from the gate to the entrance of the cave which is full of garbage and untreated grass. It would need more maintenance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Non solo il complesso archeologico rupestre è abbandonato all’incuria e all’inciviltà ma è anche impossibile da visitare perché sempre chiuso e senza possibilità di ottenere informazione alcuna nei paraggi. In generale la visita a Gravina in Puglia è stata solo un’ottima occasione per essere testimoni di come la mancanza di cultura (ma forse anche solo semplice buon senso) possa uccidere un intero paese che avrebbe la storia e le possibilità per essere una meta turistica al pari di Matera o Alberobello
Not only is the rock archaeological complex abandoned to neglect and incivility but it is also impossible to visit because it is always closed and without the possibility of obtaining any information nearby. In general, the visit to Gravina in Puglia was just an excellent opportunity to witness how the lack of culture (but perhaps even just simple common sense) can kill an entire country that would have the history and the possibilities to be a tourist destination like Matera or Alberobello

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ All the surrounding area have been revitalised and finally we can have a view on the canyon. The church is carved into the rock. It's spectacular how it has been done knowing the poor technologies available in that period. I suggest a visit to the ossuary: a little bit spooky but it makes feel the atmosphere.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Closed for good. No opening hours, nothing. In good weather it should be accessible - with "danger" signs. Bad impression as this is the reason we made it to Gravina. The other church also closed. Leaving in disgust.
