★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well organized port with ferries leaving mostly for Corsica and Sardinia (Olbia and Golfo Aranci). Usually the best price to ferry over to Sardinia, way more convenient than Genova and/or Civitavecchia. In summer you can try Piombino as a near alternative, yet with no service in winter. Of course ferries also sail to near Elba, but for that Piombino is way better.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cruise ship and cargo port, gateaway for Florence, Pisa and other interesting places. Has free wifi and you cannot go walking out of it, it is not allowed, if you arrived on a cruise ship, shutlle buses will take you downtown for 5 euros round trip, take cash and exact money preferably.

Not so walker friendly as depending on your cruise slip location it can be tricky to walk in and out of but its close driving to the train station which is a clean safe ride to and from Firenza/ Florence and the airport mid way between the two. In a clean safe area and the terminal staff is amazing
