★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In età medioevale il nucleo originario della fortezza era costituito da una torre quadrata posta ai margini di Porto Pisano, il grande scalo portuale che si estendeva tra Pisa e l'allora villaggio labronico. Tale manufatto, sia pure sbassato nella sua altezza è ancora visibile.
In the Middle Ages, the original nucleus of the fortress consisted of a square tower located on the edge of Porto Pisano, the large port of call which extended between Pisa and the then Labronic village. This artifact, even if lowered in its height, is still visible.
