Venere, realizzata tra il 1888 e il 1895. The Ponte Principe, joining the banks of the Calore between the territories of Lapio and Taurasi, is one of the numerous steel bridges that characterize the historic, but now disused, railway line Avellino-Rocchetta Sant'Antonio-Ponte S. Venere, built between 1888 and 1895.

Meglio vedere qualche bella fotografia. It is not valued, there is a sign with the history of the bridge, but for the rest .... brambles, weeds and a substantial neglect. Better to see some nice pictures.

Nice, too bad we pass that useless train. If it were used as a cycle path and pardon it would be a huge step forward. But there seems to be no interest.

Si arriva così alla stazione di lapio e con le stazione alle spalle seguire i binari verso destra. Dopo un minuto di cammino si arriva al ponte Follow the directions of the navigator for the prince bridge but a few meters before the arrival follow the road signs indicating the tourist station. This leads to the lapio station and with the station behind you, follow the tracks to the right. After a minute of walking you will arrive at the bridge

Il ponte Principe unisce la ferrovia attraversando il fiume Calore, per un tratto di circa 300 metri ! Il ponte è interamente in acciaio con una struttura reticolata molto particolare! Irpinia never ceases to amaze! The historic railway, now disused, winds its way through the Lapio area. The Principe bridge joins the railway crossing the Calore river, for a stretch of about 300 meters! The bridge is made entirely of steel with a very particular reticulated structure!
A	Antonella Citro on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Arrivarci è davvero molto semplice, basta seguire le indicazioni di Maps ma non arrivare fino alla fine, ad un paio di tornanti dalla meta indicata dal navigatore si troverà una freccia indicante "stazione tuiristica" , è lì che bisogna fermarsi per poter attraversare il ponte. Una location che merita di essere visitata. Getting there is really very simple, just follow the directions of Maps but don't get to the end, a couple of bends from the destination indicated by the navigator you will find an arrow indicating "tuiristic station", that's where you have to stop in order to cross the bridge. A location that deserves to be visited.
