★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Pieve di Santo Stefano è anche la parrocchia del suo capoluogo. Si trova nel centro storico di Santo stefano Magra. Le sue oprigini sono antichissime. L'attuale chiesa è stata ricostruita su precedenti strutture religiose, prima nel tempo del medioevo e poi in seguito sui resti di un preesistente edificio risalente al 1324. Anticamente la sua struttura era ad un'unica navata, con un unico altare e il soffitto a volta, solo dopo essere stata distrutta fu Ferdinando d'Andrea a riproggettarla dandole lo stile Barocco Genovese, nel XVIII secolo i lavori si conclusero nel 1776.
Attualmente possiamo ammirarne la sua maestosità con da sei cappelle laterali con coro, una cupola nel centro , con pianta a forma di croce greca. Sopra l'ingresso principale nella contro facciata, troviamo un bellissimo organo pensile. I tre Altari sono dedicati a Santo Stefano, alla madre della Consolazione e San Felice. vi sono anche bellissimi affreschi. Una chiesa davvero bellissima e importante!
The Pieve di Santo Stefano is also the parish of its capital. It is located in the historic center of Santo Stefano Magra. Its origins are very ancient. In ancient times its structure was with a single nave, with a single altar and a vaulted ceiling. time, only after being destroyed was Ferdinando d'Andrea to redesign it giving it the Genoese Baroque style, in the eighteenth century the works were completed in 1776.
Currently we can admire its majesty with six side chapels with choir, a dome in the center, with a plan in the shape of a Greek cross. Above the main entrance in the counter facade, we find a beautiful hanging organ. The three Altars are dedicated to Santo Stefano, to the mother of the Consolation and to San Felice. there are also beautiful frescoes. A truly beautiful and important church!
