Il museo anche se piccolo è ben strutturato, espone nel dettaglio gli scavi e le ricerche relative al reperto. C era anche un ologramma che riproduce la biga, mi auguro che sia tornato in funzione, sarà il motivo per fare un altra visita. A	Antonio DI MAIO on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il Museo della Biga, presso l’ex convento francescano, accoglie la copia a grandezza naturale (eseguita dalla Scuola del maestro Manzù nel 1985) di un cocchio da parata greco-italico del VI secolo a.C., rinvenuto nel 1902 in località Colle del Capitano e dal 1903 al Metropolitan Museum di New York. Il Museo della Biga di Monteleone di Spoleto, negli ambienti inferiori del complesso di San Francesco, accoglie i calchi in gesso e la copia in scala 1:1 della cosiddetta “Biga etrusca” (che recenti studi attribuiscono invece a un artista greco-ionico immigrato in Etruria), consistente in un carro da parata del VI secolo a.C., in legno, bronzo dorato e avorio, con parapetti recanti Storie di Achille. La copia è eseguita dalla Scuola d’Arte del maestro Manzù nel 1985 (“Anno degli Etruschi”) e, dopo una breve permanenza nella Chiesa di San Gilberto, trova sede nella mostra. Il prezioso reperto viene ritrovato nel 1902 dal monteleonese Isidoro Vannozzi in una tomba a tumulo, durante la sistemazione dell’aia antistante alla sua casa rurale, in località Colle del Capitano. Ceduto a un antiquario di Norcia, è dal 1903 nel Metropolitan Museum di New York. A seguito del recente rimontaggio degli elementi del carro newyorkese, la copia di Monteleone è diventata una testimonianza storica del precedente assemblaggio. The Biga Museum, in the former Franciscan convent, houses the life-size copy (made by the School of the master Manzù in 1985) of a Greek-Italic parade chariot of the sixth century BC, found in 1902 in Colle del Capitano and from 1903 at the Metropolitan Museum of New York. The Biga Museum of Monteleone di Spoleto, in the lower rooms of the San Francesco complex, houses the plaster casts and the 1: 1 scale copy of the so-called "Etruscan Biga" (which recent studies instead attribute to an immigrant Greek-Ionic artist in Etruria), consisting of a parade chariot from the 6th century BC, in wood, gilded bronze and ivory, with parapets bearing the Stories of Achilles. The copy is made by Maestro Manzù's School of Art in 1985 ("Year of the Etruscans") and, after a short stay in the Church of San Gilberto, is housed in the exhibition. The precious find was found in 1902 by Isidoro Vannozzi from Monteleone in a tumulus tomb, during the arrangement of the threshing floor in front of his rural house, in Colle del Capitano. Il palazzo che ospita il museo offre una vista stupenda sulla vallata dominata da Monteleone.
