★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A Piazza or entry gate made in honour of victorious warriors of Firenze Empire... This place is beautifully built. Not visited by many tourists this is generally empty. There is a garden around and also a fountain. Located around 3-4 kms from the duomo..this place is worth visiting for a relaxed evening

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is among the central places of Florence, where many small monuments and buildings of Roman Italy can be observed. Walking over the streets nearby and observing sculptures and architecture is also a pleazant experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cool monument to see but has a little construction going on. It's a bit of a walk from where most of the Florence city sites are but if you're going on a stroll, check it out.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ [ˈpjattsa della liberˈta]) is the northernmost point of the historic centre of Florence. It was created in the 19th century during works to produce the Viali di Circonvallazione around the city. It hosts Triumphal Arch of the Lorraine and, in winter, an ice rink for skating.
A clearing around Porta San Gallo has existed since the fourteenth century and its name has historically been Porta San Gallo Square. In 1738 the square's Triumphal Arch of the Lorraine was erected to celebrate the arrival of the Habsburg-Lorraine dynasty in Florence.
In 1865, the demolition of the medieval walls allowed for a new reshaping of the area by the architect Giuseppe Poggi, completed by 1875 in the present elliptical shape square, surrounded by palaces. In the middle of the tree-lined park is a pool with fountains in front of the triumphal arch.
The square was named Camillo Cavour square, changed in 1930 to Costanzo Ciano square, in 1944 to Muti square, and in the 1945 permanently to Piazza della Libertà or Liberty square

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful and magnificent. The location is perfect. A walking distance to the city centre where most of Florence attractions is. Many good restaurants around it.
Kids will love it there but it in the middle of very busy roads, though there is enough room to play. There is a need for supervision so that kids don't end up on the road.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The fountain was dried out and it looked like the city has forgotten all about maintaining this place. To bad, because Arco di Trionfo is very beautiful.
