A lovely historic Italian square in Padova. Really liked the atmosphere with all the restaurants. Shout-out to Ristorante and Pizzeria 'La Lanterna' for their hospitality, delicious food, some knowledge of English, service and gluten-free options! If you're a coeliac or have any other gluten intolerance, for an extra +2 euros you can order gluten-free pastas. Inherently they have some gluten-free dishes as well.

Piazza dei Signori o Piazza della Signoria is one of those beautiful squares that immediately attracts attention. Great pleasant place to spend with family or friends, because it is full of bars, restaurants, patisseries, shops ....Surrounded by historic palaces dominated by the famous Clock Tower. The houses that surround it are from different periods and architectural styles, rising mainly on the arcades of the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. Some still wear medieval and renaissance ornaments. For centuries it was the scene of civic celebrations, tournaments and a representative space of the city compared to the largest squares of the Herbs and Fruit, which had greater commercial propensities. The square was created in the fourteenth century by the demolition of an ancient quarter that stretched in front of the courtyard of the church of San Clemente, as a result of urban remodeling promoted by Ubertino Da Carrara. The opening of the square was conceived to give significance to the eastern access tower of the Royal Palace that was being built. According to tradition it was from the "signori" (lords) Carraresi that the square got its name. The war between the Carraresi princes and the Visconti at the end of the fourteenth century damaged the square and the buildings so much that it was defined for a period of "Desolation" ("della Desolazione"), in the 20s of the fifteenth century the Venetians started a work of recovery of the space that became the main backdrop of the civic liturgy: for tournaments, jousts, battles, courtships, concerts and musical festivals it became "Piazza dei Trionfi" and again "Piazza della Signoria". To the west dominates the Clock Tower flanked by the symmetrical palaces of the Capitanio and the Camerlenghi works of the sixteenth and seventeenth century in Mannerist style. To the east is the ancient church of San Clemente flanked by medieval houses. To the south, towards the Cathedral, the Lombard Loggia del Consiglio stands out, flanked by the narrow "executioner's house" largely rebuilt with the nearby Palazzo Foscari after being hit by a bomb in the Second World War. To the north there are interesting medieval houses, among which the gothic Molin building where Lina Merlin lived. In one of the columns that support the portico towards Piazza della Frutta is engraved a popular "memory" of the uncovering of the Palazzo della Ragione which occurred due to a whirlwind in 1756.

Nice place for an afternoon coffee, glass of wind etc while chatting with friends. The places basically is for young people, all nationalities together. I can say it's a small UN. Apart from that you can visit some shops where you have very unique items and good price. Pandora considered as one of the most important academic center in Italy, this makes the city more active with young people (mostly students, researchers, academics etc) and of course lot of white collar.

One of the most beautiful town squares in Padova. You can admire the tower's clock, there are guided tours to take you up and take a look at the mechanism and see how it all works, or you can take a break and enjoy some free time in different bars along the town's square.
