★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loggia del Consiglio o anche Loggia della Gran Guardia. Questo stupendo Palazzo si affaccia sulla bellissima Piazza dei Signori. Oggi ho visto che il Palazzo era aperto e sono entrata.
Nella loggia, con soffitto a travatura e ornato di svecchiature marmoree e di stemmi, si apre a sinistra nel fondo la porta da cui si accede, con un ampio scalone interrotto da un pianerottolo, alla sala superiore. La grande Sala è ornata da affreschi del 1667 lungo le pareti e sul soffitto. Da non perdere ?????
 Loggia del Consiglio or also Loggia della Gran Guardia. This beautiful building overlooks the beautiful Piazza dei Signori. Today I saw that the Palace was open and I entered.
In the loggia, with a beamed ceiling and decorated with marble rejuvenation and coats of arms, the door opens on the left at the back from which, with a large staircase interrupted by a landing, the upper room opens. The great hall is decorated with frescoes from 1667 along the walls and on the ceiling. Don't miss it ?????

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bel palazzo rinascimentale affacciato su una delle storiche piazze centrali. Un'ampia gradinata conduce ad un porticato che occupa la parte frontale del piano terra.
Al piano superiore il grande salone del Consiglio con pareti affrescate.
La palazzina prende il nome dall'utilizzo che ne fu fatto durante il dominio austriaco come sede del comando militare.
Beautiful Renaissance palace overlooking one of the historic central squares. A large staircase leads to a porch that occupies the front of the ground floor.
Upstairs is the large Council room with frescoed walls.
The building takes its name from the use that was made of it during the Austrian rule as the seat of the military command.

Fu realizzata a partire dal 1496 come sede del Gran Consiglio. Sorse su un progetto di Annibale Maggi e poi conclusa da Giovanni Maria Falconetto nel 1553, rimanendo però incompleta della copertura a calotta plumbea. La sala superiore fu affrescata nel 1667 da Pier Antonio Torri. Durante la dominazione austriaca divenne sede della "Gran Guardia", comando militare delle città.
The Loggia del Consiglio also known as Loggia della Gran Guardia is a Renaissance building that overlooks Piazza dei Signori in Padua. It was built starting from 1496 as the seat of the Grand Council. It was built on a project by Annibale Maggi and then completed by Giovanni Maria Falconetto in 1553, but the leaden canopy roof remained incomplete. The upper room was frescoed in 1667 by Pier Antonio Torri. During the Austrian domination it became the seat of the "Gran Guardia", the military command of the cities.
