★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A wonderfully beautiful town square, visit on the first Sunday of each month, you will find a antiques market, the piazza is surrounded by bars , once every two years they hold a chess match with real people in dress as the pieces. Can't recommend a visit here enough.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The heart of Marostica, a beautiful square with Palazzo Doglione on one side and the Lower Castle on the other - with the famous chessboard obviously in the middle.
The Upper Castle towers overhead.
I was there at Christmas, and there was an ice-skating rink, Christmas tree, etc.
