Gli esuli albanesi 500 anni fa fuggono dall'invasione ottomana e trovano rifugio in una bellissima vallata che ricorda il paesaggio alpino, circondata dalle montagne e si riflette in un antico lago artificiale. Un gioiello unico per cultura, religione, natura. Le persone parlano ancora in lingua arbereshe, albanese medievale, tramandato per generazioni. Le chiese ricche di icone bizantine, profumo di incenso, canti mistici e riti greco-albanese. Nel periodo pasquale e natalizio si vive una particolare atmosfera: Donne e ragazzi e bambini con meravigliosi abiti tradizionali ricamati in oro affollano le strade e creano atmosfere di altri tempi, di altre dimensioni, il profumo di incenso e i canti in chiesa rimandano ad un passato misticismo liturgico.
