★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il "Percile" di Villa Adriana anche se oggi non riusciamo pienamente a godere della bellezza di quello che è stato un tempo ci da appena entrati nel complesso archeologico il suo biglietto di presentazione su tutto quello che ci aspetta piacevolmente più avanti. Simpaticamente popolato da pesci e tartarughe.
 The "Percile" of Villa Adriana even if today we are not able to fully enjoy the beauty of what it once was, as soon as we enter the archaeological complex, its presentation ticket on everything that awaits us pleasantly further on. Nicely populated by fish and turtles.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Una de las primeras estructuras que te encuentras. Era un inmenso jardín con estanque central (todo ello sobre un aterrazamiento) rodeado de pórticos. El Emperador y su séquito lo usaba para dar paseos después de comer.
One of the first structures that you come across. It was a huge garden with a central pond (all on a terrace) surrounded by porticos. The Emperor and his entourage used it for walks after lunch.

La realizzazione della spianata del Pecile fu possibile grazie alla costruzione di un poderoso sistema di sostruzioni, le Cento Camerelle, per superare il dislivello con la valle sottostante, che lungo il lato occidentale raggiunge i quindici metri di altezza. Come nella maggior parte delle sostruzioni della villa, la struttura di sostegno è costituita da una serie di ambienti contigui, allineati su 4 piani sovrapposti. Questi ambienti erano destinati al personale di servizio per le presenze di latrine e per le modeste dimensioni.
The Hundred Camerelle
The construction of the Pecile esplanade was possible thanks to the construction of a mighty system of substructures, the Cento Camerelle, to overcome the difference in height with the valley below, which along the western side reaches fifteen meters in height. As in most of the substructures of the villa, the supporting structure consists of a series of contiguous rooms, aligned on 4 superimposed floors. These rooms were intended for service personnel due to the presence of latrines and their modest size.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ All’ingresso di questo meraviglioso sito archeologico si trova il Pecile di Villa Adriana. Un’enorme invaso d’acqua con annesso un parco con vista su Roma.
Questa, del resto, come molte altre strutture del sito sono imponenti a testimonianza dei fasti dell’epoca dell’Imperatore Adriano.
Sicuramente il sito di Tivoli è stato sicuramente individuato per l’abbondanza dei vari corsi d’acqua elemento essenziale per questa e molte altre opere realizzate nell’insediamento.
At the entrance to this wonderful archaeological site is the Pecile of Villa Adriana. A huge reservoir of water with an adjoining park overlooking Rome.
This, moreover, like many other structures on the site are impressive as evidence of the splendor of the era of Emperor Hadrian.
The Tivoli site was certainly identified for the abundance of the various waterways, an essential element for this and many other works carried out in the settlement.
