β β β β β One of Milan's oldest cafes. We stood at the bar, had a very respectable espresso and some tasty little pastries from the pasticceria counter. It was a bit of a flying visit but quite fun.

β β β β β Very ancient, very milanese place. Famous among locals in particular for panettone. It is more expensive than average. I like it because it is not a modern generic place. It is particular and has it's own atmosphere. There was also very tasty place for sandwiches as a spin-off ( not sure if they still sell them)

β β β β β It was beautiful and historical place but toooo expensive. I paid about 30 euros for what you see in my picture.

β β β β β Deserts were okay, but the staff werenβt really that nice after they realised we donβt speak Italian fluently

β β β β β The prices are definetly too high. 4 euro for a caffΓ¨ macchiato which in other place would cost 1 maximum 2 euro. Same for sweets..really to expensive and not worthy.

β β β β β I still occasionally have coffee or cappuccino here with a briosche every now and again. I do so because it is on the way into town or while I'm out for a walk. Also because i like the feel to the place and I know some of the bar tenders who have worked in the cafes I know and go to in the area. The cappuccino is served in a large cup and the briosches are usually Biffi style i.e. low on the filling and not the usually puff pastry type. Overall, the quality is acceptable but it doesn't match the price, far too high at 3.8euros for a cappuccino and briosche served at the bar i.e., not sitting!
I stopped by on Xmas eve so i expected at least a hello or goodbye and why not, seasons greetings. I left rather sad with none.
Indeed, no one said anything...including 4 bar tenders, 2 ladies at the till... neither as I entered or left. Perhaps a matter of distraction or perhaps not but 3 out 5 seems a fair score.

β β β β β Beautiful interior (that bar!) , definitely worth the visit. Great place for a capuccino and sweets, a quick lunch or for l'apperitovo.
