★ ★ ★ ★ ★ È indubbio che sia una chiesa molto antica e mantiene inalterato il fascino di aver percorso secoli e secoli di storia. Ha alcune caratteristiche forse uniche: la quasi totalità di assenza di affreschi, l'abside con gli archi ciechi, molto bizantina, le imponenti volte a crocera e tutta la struttura costituita con mattoni faccia a vista. Salta all'occhio che colonne sono posate su basamenti probabilmente romani che emergono dal pavimento e forse anche le colonne stesse lo sono. Un particolare interessante è il battistero dove è stato battezzato il figlio di Galileo Galilei.
There is no doubt that it is a very old church and it maintains the charm of having traveled through centuries and centuries of history. It has some perhaps unique characteristics: the almost total absence of frescoes, the apse with blind arches, very Byzantine, the imposing cross vaults and the whole structure made up of exposed brick. It is noteworthy that columns are placed on probably Roman bases that emerge from the floor and perhaps the columns themselves are too. An interesting detail is the baptistery where Galileo Galilei's son was baptized.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Meravigliosa chiesa romanica o anche piu antica, alcune sue parti forse bizantina. La costruzione in mattoni e pietra la rende unica. È in grado di trasmettere la spiritualità tramite il silenzio degli elementi architettonici che delineano perfettamente il romanico, le volte a crociera sottolineate da elementi geometrici evocativi sono autentiche e originali.
Wonderful Romanesque or even older church, some of its parts perhaps Byzantine. The brick and stone construction makes it unique. It is able to convey spirituality through the silence of the architectural elements that perfectly outline the Romanesque, the cross vaults highlighted by evocative geometric elements are authentic and original.
