★ ★ ★ ★ ★ These guys stand in the middle of the road with hi-viz vests like policemen directing you into their car-park. Locals breezily drive on by and park next door which is cheaper. Please see the other review for where you can get free parking in Syracuse.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is NOT the free parking of Neopolis. It's private and costs 3.5 to 5€, which you don't need to pay if you park for free on the other side of Neapolis (Parking Neapolis, Viale Augusto, 37GJ+6G). This one only makes sense if it's high season and you can't park elsewhere, or if you're looking for an overnight spot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not bad parking but it is a tourist trap. If you move past the girls navigating/luring you into the parking lot, you can find a free or cheaper municipal parking farther on the side of the road. The price was €3 for 3 hours or €6 until midnight.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 2 stars for parking proximity to Greek and Roman amphitheatres , for English speaking person at the gate who helped us with our queries plus EHU included. Well stocked supermarket 10 mins walk from the Sosta stop
Lost stars for the following-:
Staff blocking road leaving little option but to use their parking services
Insistence on paying upfront , we paid €20 to camp overnight and left at 5.30 pm couldn't cope with the mosquitoes. NB Parking all day for campervans costs €13.
Mosquitoes simply everywhere on this level grass field with lots of bushes and trees both day and early evening , bitten badly during short period after arrival before visiting the theatres in the afternoon
No 2 bus doesn't run between 2 and 3 so a we ordered a taxi one way.
Very expensive taxi ride into Ortygia ( on a Sunday ) 3 miles , charged €15
Told by gate reception person it would cost€10. It was a 30 min walk back from the castle
