★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Parcheggio carino a due passi da Ortigia. Non sempre è facile trovare posto... non affidatevi ai vari parcheggiatori abusivi di turno... altrimenti troverete delle belle multe salate al vostro ritorno
Nice parking a stone's throw from Ortigia. It is not always easy to find a place ... do not rely on the various illegal parking attendants on duty ... otherwise you will find nice hefty fines on your return

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One ticket machine permanently out of order, the other doesn't accept credit cards (at least didn't accept my two Maestro and one Mastercard). If you're running out of coins go somewhere else

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The ticket machine seems to be permanently out of order. I asked other car drivers who parked here how to pay the parking fee but they told me not to bother. So I parked a full day and indeed I didn’t get fined.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is half a review, half a guide on how to use this place for tourists such as us. :)
The parking lot is within the ZTL, however this might not be an issue if you have yor accomodation booked on the island. You can tell so to the police on the bridge and they let you in. Make sure to get your place to register your license plate.
There are a few automats nearby, however the only take coins - no cards or banknotes. (They seem to be broken this way for some time based on reviews.)
The best option is to use the Easy Park app, but it didn't work for us and others when we stayed here. (It worked for us very well elsewhere.)
What remains then is to buy a scratch-off parking ticket - hotels nearby sell hourly ones (1.5€/hour) and daily ones (15€/day) can be purchased from the tobacco shop on Piazza Emanuele Pancali a few blocks away. (The latter only took banknotes when we were there - probably there are places nearby to buy parking tickets with cards, but we haven't looked.)
Otherwise this is an open parking place, close to everything on the island, not too clean, not too dirty, no suspicous people but no guards either and we were lucky to always find free places.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good when visiting the island. 1.50 euro per hour or 15 euro per 24 hours. One machine doesn't work, but the EasyPark app works perfectly + you can pay for exact minutes.
