★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ai quattro canti, sulla sinistra troviamo Palazzo S. Demetrio, il primo ad essere ricostruito dopo il terremoto del 1693, ricchissimo di decorazioni in pietra bianca. Il palazzo fu il primo a risorgere, dopo il terribile terremoto che nel 1693 distrusse per intero la città di Catania e tutto il Val di Noto, per volere del Barone di San Demetrio, Don Eusebio Massa, il quale nel 1694 pose nell'androne del nuovo edificio un'epigrafe a ricordo del terremoto e come buon auspicio per il futuro.
 To the four cantos, on the left we find Palazzo S. Demetrio, the first to be rebuilt after the earthquake of 1693, rich in white stone decorations. The palace was the first to resurrect, after the terrible earthquake that in 1693 completely destroyed the city of Catania and the entire Val di Noto, at the behest of the Baron of San Demetrio, Don Eusebio Massa, who in 1694 placed in the entrance hall of the new building an epigraph in memory of the earthquake and as a good omen for the future.
