Il suo prospetto rinascimentale lo rende singolare nel panorama uniforme del barocco leccese. Costruito nel 1592 su incarico del sindaco veneziano Pietro Mocenigo, ha una struttura caratterizzata da quattro grandi pilastri che inglobano le originarie colonne, tra i quali si aprono, su due lati, grandi archi a sesto acuto in stile gotico, mentre la parte superiore è composta da logge con archetti in stile veneziano. La grande sala interna è decorata con affreschi di figure allegoriche e scene della vita di Santa Irene. Originariamente destinato alle udienze dei governatori con la popolazione, è stato utilizzato come magazzino per le munizioni, come sede municipale fino al 1851, infine come sede del Museo Civico. Attualmente è utilizzato come spazio culturale destinato ad ospitare esposizioni d'arte ed eventi. È affiancato dalla piccola chiesa di San Marco. Also known as Palazzo del Seggio, it is a very beautiful building in Piazza Sant'Oronzo. Its Renaissance façade makes it unique in the uniform panorama of the Lecce Baroque. Built in 1592 on behalf of the Venetian mayor Pietro Mocenigo, it has a structure characterized by four large pillars that incorporate the original columns, between which there are large Gothic arches on two sides, while the upper part is composed of from loggias with Venetian style arches. The large inner hall is decorated with frescoes of allegorical figures and scenes from the life of Saint Irene. Originally intended for hearings of governors with the population, it was used as a warehouse for munitions, as a municipal seat until 1851, and finally as the seat of the Civic Museum. It is currently used as a cultural space destined to host art exhibitions and events. It is flanked by the small church of San Marco.

Negli anni ebbe lo scopo di ospitare il municipio, le udienze e le riunioni pubbliche. Esteticamente richiama un po' lo stile gotico e rinascimentale. È costituito da pilastri forati, con decorazioni ovaliformi, che ancorano una vetrata frontale su cui poggiano arcate a sesto acuto, sormontate da tre loggette. Sopra l'arco è ben visibile lo stemma e ai lati, raffigurazioni di armature, scudi, sciabole, spade, faretre ed elmetti. It dates back to 1592 and was commissioned by the Venetian mayor Pietro Mocenigo to replace the one demolished in 1588. Over the years it was intended to host the town hall, audiences and public meetings. Aesthetically it recalls a bit the Gothic and Renaissance style. It consists of pierced pillars, with oval-shaped decorations, which anchor a front window on which pointed arches rest, surmounted by three loggias. Above the arch the coat of arms is clearly visible and on the sides, depictions of armor, shields, sabers, swords, quivers and helmets.
