At the end of the 18th Century, the de Gregorio family bought a historical building already owned by the Palma Duke, Prince of Lampedusa, near the Arsenal. The building, over the centuries, has been modified numerous times. One of them was the rebuilding of the main facade, designed in the neoclassical style in 1865. It was built around an inner garden with a rocaille fountain. On the noble floor there is the party hall with painted ceilings connected to the old family Chapel. On the west side, there is a tower from which the sighting of hunting prey was announced through the uses of flags. Lord Nelson, Lady Hamilton and Richard Wagner, whom played the piano in the main sitting room are some of the people that have stepped inside this Palace.
