★ ★ ★ ★ ★ È un palazzo cosi ricco di arte e di storia che qualsiasi descrizione risulterebbe lacunosa. La sua edificazione risale all'inizio del XVI secolo per volontà dell'abate di Sant'Angelo di Atella, Giovanni Francesco Carafa. E già dal 1531 il nipote, Luigi Carafa, iniziò una serie di restauri e abbellimenti che si sono susseguiti nel corso degli anni e lo hanno consegnato a noi cosi come oggi lo vediamo. Ad esempio, l'arco di piperno del portale di accesso su via Chiaia è opera di Ferdinando Fuga nel 1726 in chiaro stile barocco. Tra gli illustri ospiti di questo storico edificio preme ricordare: Giacomo Casanova, Goethe, Torquato Tasso, e il Caravaggio. È oggi un palazzo ad uso residenziale e non visitabile. Sottostante a questo storica residenza, è collocato il cinema Metropolitan, che con i suoi 3000 posti era uno dei più ampi della città.Oggi, dopo un periodo di chiusura, è stato trasformato in un multisala. Un angolo della Napoli aristocratica.
 It is a palace so rich in art and history that any description would be incomplete. Its construction dates back to the early sixteenth century by the will of the abbot of Sant'Angelo di Atella, Giovanni Francesco Carafa. And already in 1531, his nephew, Luigi Carafa, began a series of restorations and embellishments that followed one another over the years and handed him over to us as we see it today. For example, the arch of piperno of the access portal on via Chiaia is the work of Ferdinando Fuga in 1726 in clear Baroque style.
