Sede della Casa del Cinema, ex ufficio cinema per permessi etc ora l'amministrazione comunale data la vasta mole di richieste tra spot pubblicitari e film, di girare a Napoli, ha deciso di spostare la sede dal Maschio Angioino a questo palazzo centralissimo, a Via Toledo, nelle immediate adiacenze di Piazza Carità. È un palazzo storico in allestimento. Lavori all'esterno sulla facciata ed altri all'interno per ristrutturare l'ambiente, il cortile, le scale, il pianerottolo, e così via. Diciamo che promette bene, anche perché forse i soldi investiti non mancheranno. Vedremo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il Palazzo eretto nel settecento su commissione del marchese Angelo Cavalcanti che diede l incarico a Mario Gioffredo . Nell Ottocento venne sopraelevato di un ulteriore piano e , dal 1945 al 1980, divenne Casa di Riposo. Nel 1981 fu annesso alla proprietà comunale e fu oggetto di un restauro conservativo progettato da un noto studio di architettura napoletano( Vulcanica architettura ) . Oggi il piano nobile dell'edificio è adibito a sede dell'istituto italiano di Scienze Umane. L opera è in stile neoclassico e si eleva su cinque piani originari e corte all'interno. La facciata è scandita da Iesene composite in ordine gigante che inquadrano le colonne di finestre del primo e secondo piano.
The palace erected in the eighteenth century on commission of the marquis Angelo Cavalcanti who gave the assignment to Mario Gioffredo. In the nineteenth century it was raised another floor and, from 1945 to 1980, it became a nursing home. In 1981 it was annexed to the municipal property and was the subject of a conservative restoration designed by a well-known Neapolitan architecture studio (Vulcanica Architettura). Today the main floor of the building is used as the seat of the Italian Institute of Human Sciences. The work is in neoclassical style and stands on five original and short floors inside. The facade is marked by composite hyenas in giant order that frame the columns of windows on the first and second floors.
