★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il Palazzo costruito nel XVIII secolo sorge sulla Via Garibaldi al n. 127, nel tempo ha cambiato denominazione in base ai proprietari: palazzo Lombardo - Cafici, Iudica e infine Caruso. Il Palazzo è caratterizzato da quello che viene considerato uno dei più lunghi balconi barocchi del mondo. La balconata in ferro battuto è sorretta da ventisette mensoloni scolpiti raffiguranti delle maschere buffe con espressioni una diversa dall’altra.
The building built in the 18th century stands on Via Garibaldi at no. 127, over time it changed its name based on the owners: Palazzo Lombardo - Cafici, Iudica and finally Caruso. The Palace is characterized by what is considered one of the longest baroque balconies in the world. The wrought iron balcony is supported by twenty-seven carved corbels depicting funny masks with expressions different from each other.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il balcone barocco caratteristico e più lungo d'Europa si trova a Via Garibaldi, 127 di Palazzolo Acreide. Dalla piazza principale con la chiesa ci vogliono circa 10 minuti a piedi per raggiungerlo passando per delle viette del paese anch'esse caratteristiche ed affascinanti.
Costruito nel XVIII secolo, per sorreggere la balconata in ferro battuto ci pensano 27 mensoloni scolpiti che raffigurano delle maschere buffe, ognuna delle quali ha un’espressione diversa dall’altra. In gergo popolare vengono chiamate "cagnoli".
Il balcone è un po' trascurato e meriterebbe una restaurata e manutenzione... un peccato che il tempo lo abbia man mano consumato e l'uomo dimenticato.
The characteristic and longest baroque balcony in Europe is located in Via Garibaldi, 127 in Palazzolo Acreide. From the main square with the church it takes about 10 minutes on foot to reach it, passing through the small streets of the village which are also characteristic and fascinating.
Built in the eighteenth century, to support the wrought iron balcony there are 27 carved corbels depicting funny masks, each of which has a different expression from the other. In popular jargon they are called "cagnoli".
The balcony is a bit neglected and deserves a restoration and maintenance ... a pity that time has gradually worn it out and man has forgotten.
