★ ★ ★ ★ ★ L'edificio è una rara testimonianza dell'architettura a destinazione residenziale dell'età medievale oltre ad essere uno dei più grandi palazzi di Padova. Fabbricato all'inizio del Duecento intorno alla già preesistente torre difensiva (XII secolo), conserva gran parte delle memorie storiche della antichissima famiglia Capodilista i cui discendenti hanno posseduto il palazzo sino ai primi anni del 2000.
Il nucleo principale, il più antico palazzo-fortezza, è quello caratterizzato dalla merlatura e dalla torre, alta oltre 35 metri. Aperto in origine da sei snelli portici 'giganti' alla padovana poggianti su imponenti pilastri con base in pietra. Si riconoscono ancora, nel tessuto murario in cotto, le antiche aperture a bifora. Reliquia dell'età medievale è la bella cappella decorata tra il XIV e il XV secolo, con affreschi coevi, ciborio e ancona di gusto lombardesco. Gotica è la decorazione stellata delle volte del portico, più tardo e in stile di transizione, il portone d'ingresso.
The building is a rare testimony of medieval residential architecture as well as being one of the largest palaces in Padua. Built at the beginning of the thirteenth century around the already existing defensive tower (XII century), it preserves most of the historical memories of the very ancient Capodilista family whose descendants owned the palace until the early 2000s.
The main nucleus, the oldest palace-fortress, is the one characterized by battlements and the tower, over 35 meters high. Originally opened by six slender 'giant' arcades in the Padua area resting on imposing pillars with a stone base. The ancient mullioned windows are still visible in the terracotta wall fabric. Relic of the medieval age is the beautiful chapel decorated between the 14th and 15th centuries, with contemporary frescoes, ciborium and altarpiece in Lombard style. Gothic is the starry decoration of the portico vaults, later and in transitional style, the front door.

Ristrutturato all'interno da G.B.Novello nel 1780 con un salotto decorato da Francesco Zugno (Venezia, 1709 – Venezia (?), 13 gennaio 1787) .Allo stesso Novelloè da riferire anche il "casino da giuoco" di forme neoclassiche sul lato opposto della via Umberto I, preceduto da un giardinetto.
The thirteenth-century "Emo Capodilista" palace is very interesting, with a crenellated crowning, a noble tower and a large park behind it, arranged in the English style in the nineteenth century.
