★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Osteria Solferino is good for groups but the food is average. The crostini starter was great but my lasagna wasn't a good one. Overcooked, dry and it seemed like it was few days old. The wine was good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After struggling to get into places like Osteria 15 I stumbled on this place which was very welcoming, with elegant decor (without being pretentious).I was surprised it wasn’t packed out. I had the bacon salad and tortellini with cream and both were delicious!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely wonderful food; authentic and local. It's sort of a social club for locals, and the food is outstanding. I spend 2 ½ weeks in Bologna on November 2021 and ate out every day - this was one of the best. Prices are low to moderate.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious authentic food, great service and relaxing atmosphere. The smoked horse meat with rocket and parmesan was amazing but a portion for 2-3 people. The sage and butter tortelloni were well executed. Gnocchi was slightly too salty for my liking but otherwise delicious.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A delightful, vibrant osteria with delicious food and friendly staff.
We were drawn to the place by the shredded, smoked horse with arugula and parmesan appetizer. Unique and delicious!
They are also well known for their take on the classic tortellini in broth, which definitely lived up to its billing. But hands down the better primi was the tortellono with butter and sage - generous serving of perfectly al dente tortelloni bursting with ricotta. Just outstanding.
We ended by sharing a delicious bowl of Caponata (eggplant, zucchini, potatoes, olives, pepperoni), which for us was reminiscent of a delicious pepperonata made by one of our favourite restaurants in Canada.
It’s also worth mentioning that they brought a basket of fresh, warm breads - a lovely touch.
We should note that the dishes are a touch on the salty side, which we’ve learned means they are intended to be enjoyed with a glass of wine, which balances the salt very nicely. We had already drank too much wine during the day so had sparkling water with dinner - our oversight! Lol
With a total bill of €47 the meal was great value for money. Highly recommended.
