S	Sophie Maclaren on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hidden gem in Venice. Oliva Nera was recommended to me by the owner of a Michelin star restaurant nearby. One could easily miss it on a little street with many places to eat- but this one is the star. Don’t miss their tempura zucchini stuffed with fresh mozzarella and finished with fried orange zest. Isabella and her family run the place and it is really one of the best restaurants in Venice- ask for their recommendations of the day. Even better they have rare outdoor seating for a venue of such quality.

The fried zucchini flowers were fantastic. Filled with creamy cheese and tempura crispy. The aperol spritz was delightful and a perfect start to the night. Then I had the black fettuccine with shrimp and veggies which was delicious! My friend had the salmon special which was also divine. And the chef surprise dessert was incredible!! Awesome waitress and all around adorable place is reccomend to anyone in Venice.

Even some Michelin starred places offer more food and better food for similar prices. 25euros for ravioli and you get 5 pieces of ravioli. Thats 5euros per ravioli. Insane. 15euros for 3 zucchini flower pieces. I get that these portions don't have to be large but the prices are too much for what it is. Zucchini flowers also are incredibly overhyped in other reviews listed here. They're fine. Forgettable.....except for the price.

Couldn't be happier. Make sure to try the zucchini flowers and the tiramisu. The staff and owner are friendly, welcoming, and can provide great recommendations. When you have great food and great service, you know you've found an amazing place.

The staff graciously accommodated us. The spritz (Venetian and Aperol) were both good and we had the zucchini flower antipasto. To.die.for. There is a reason that it is a signature dish! Absolutely delicious. I had the Sea Bass and my friend had the Lamb Chops both were cooked to perfection and seasoned deliciously. We had the tiramisu and chocolate torta for dessert and both were delicious! Highly recommend!

Priced fairly for the area. Off the beaten path enough but still rated high. We will return and recommend you eat here too.
