★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Osteria La Gensola is maybe my favorite restaurant discovery in Rome! In fact, I was looking for a comfy, nice, smooth atmosphere for my last dinner in Rome and I was looking for speal dishes : First, linguine alle vongole and Second, Pasta con la Bottarga. The both meals were delicious, and the win was exquisite! I really recommend this place for the ones who wants to share a good moment with nice dishes and wines. The personel is also very nice and sweet, always here to suggest you ideas and treats!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The restaurant attracted us with a more spacious and elegant dining hall as seen from the street. Nevertheless, when we entered we were seated in a second dining room at the back, which was rather cramped. I will start with the positives - the service was attentive and courteous. We were not impressed by the food - it was rather bland. Prices were a bit higher for what you get (a pasta starts at EUR 14 and reaches to EUR 16-19 for the seafood varieties). A non-fancy dinner for two with a starter to share, water, two pastas and a bottle of wine will set you back with EUR ~90.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was a five star for me, both for the food and the place. Last time I dined here some plates were smaller in size and not as simple as roman cuisine is. Nonetheless I suggest it if you want to have dinner at Trastevere. P.S. sui primi tornate come prima che erano piu buoni (April 2022 vs Dec 2021)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had scallops, sea urchin, octopus, anchovies - all simply amazing. Superb service, menu and portion. Having been to many Michelin star restaurants (thanks to covid lockdown), this is up there on overall experience. Online menu that takes care of translation. A must do for all foodies when in Rome. Wish we have more time to try rest of menu…. Buon appetito!
